The Boy Scouts of America have Court of Honors which are formal ceremonies to recognize a Boy Scouts' hard work. The Court of Honor is a family affair and parents are encouraged to attend in order to recognize their sons’ achievements. Boy Scouts receive recognition for their individual rank advancement, any Boy Scout awards which were earned as a result of personal achievement/work (i.e. Merit Badges), or for Special Scouting awards from attending a Boy Scout Summer Camp, such as Camp Emerald Bay, San Diego, CA, on Catalina Island.

If the parent/guardian is unable to attend the Court of Honor, then another adult can act as a stand-in for the parent. Parents are requested to attend all Court of Honors whether or not their sons are receiving any awards. Presence at the Court of Honor shows you support involvement in the Boy Scouts of America.

We recommend the Boy Scouts to wear their Class A-Boy Scout uniform to include their merit Badge sash, but not their Order of the Arrow sash due to it not being OA event. For more informaiton on the Boy Scouts of America Class A uniform click here. All Boy Scouts are highly discouraged to wear jeans and flip-flops to inlude non-scouting shirts or any vulgar apparel...What is the definition of vulgar apparel?  Any shirt or trousers that displays any off-color remarks concerning gender, race and/or religion to include politics.  This includes any profanity or anything parents deem inappropriate.

All Boy Scouts are to have fun!  Be Friendly, Courteous & Kind. This is a scout's opportunity to demonstrate Scout Spirit and to "Show-off" all of his personal scouting achievements. A family potluck traditionally follows the Court of Honor.

If a Scout is unable to attend the Court of Honor please see our absentee policy.
